All Youth Programs:
- 7 weeks of skiing starting the week of January 4, 2010 and running through February 26, 2010 with no practice on Martin Luther King, Jr Holiday
- Fee of $30 includes membership in New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA.net). NENSA provides a liability insurance policy for the club’s activities, coaches’ training, and events for skiers of all ages as they advance through the ranks of the sport. This winter all club members will be invited to participate in the New England Bill Koch League Youth Festival at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, Maine Feb 27-28.
- We will also be participating in the Maine Winter Sports Center (MaineWSC.org) Ski Lease Program this winter. For an additional $45 participants in the kids program can have new or almost new high quality skis, boots, bindings and poles to take home and use for the entire winter! We will have boots available for a required sizing at our December 1st Sign-Up Night.
- All coaches in the program will be taking part in the New England Nordic Ski Association coaches’ education program and have specific training in age-appropriate sport development. This means that the kids programs have a strong focus on fun, games, and technique development. The middle school team will start to focus on training and development of racing skills, with the high school group taking that a step further, individualized to each athlete’s goals.
